Radio 6DBY

Derby Media Aboriginal Corporation commenced radio broadcasting on 1st March, 2003 on frequency 97.9fm. We currently broadcast live-to-air to the township of Derby and nearby communities including Mowanjum.

In our short history we have gained credibility locally with a survey revealing that 95% of the local population listen to 97.9FM at some stage during the week for local news, views, music and events, with many admitting to being dedicated Larrkardi Radio listeners.
​We have also won 6 national CBAA awards to date.

We have added a recording studio and a training area to our existing studios to better provide for our local musicians to meet and record their music.
